have not been posting as often lately- have been preoccupied with school. As soon as all these tests are over things will go back to normal. ( not anytime soon)( were things ever normal anyway?)

write, write

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Apparently...

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

When i was younger my ambition was to become a writer. I loved books and i still do. I wrote many short stories and i still have them kept in my room somewhere. Somehow i have not written anything in 3 years.. Maybe its time to start? And i'm not just saying this just because of the william shakespeare thing, which is DO NOT believe is quite possible/accurate, but this thing here reminded me of what it was like to write.. And how much i enjoyed it!

oh, and on a random note.
Take a look at this guy's illustrations! too cute

TAVI TAVI

"Daria doesn’t care what others think about her, and definitely not her appearance, and that is what, really, [fashion is] all about. It’s not about being what magazines want you to be; it’s about the difficult act of being yourself, which, when it seems like the whole universe cares about appearance more than anything else, is a pretty courageous thing to do."

Tavi on Daria and fashion, via Jezebel

yes, i really agree on this one. so many people i know say they like fashion and all but what they really like is shopping and brands. They care too much about how they look and how others percieve them as well.

today we had a arts specialisation talk and we were supposed to pick 2 specialisations out of 6 by the next 2 weeks. The teacher was all, " you're at the crossroads of your life" which made me a little jittery.

Dark, hypnotic and dreamy (not the light-hearted on though, the slightly darker ones)
i am in love with Ellen Roger's photography!

She uses film for all her photos, and as for her video works, she edits film in the old (meticulous) method, without using photo shopping. But i have to say what comes out is something.. well see for yourself!

You can visit her website here

Here's an interview she took recently for "Way Of The Woman".. I took this off her website, hope its okay!

How did photography become your occupation? Could you please let us know more about your background?
I was found by a stylist called Katie Burnett. She is a wonderful woman and I attribute my chosen career path to her. I come from a fine art background so the fashion industry came as a bit of a shock to me.

How does your creative process start?
Mostly from reading, I read a lot, and get ideas from dreams, both sleeping and waking. Then I guess I have to run around trying to pull this vision from my head with a limited budget. Which is hard.

We read that you have 10 key points to prepare a shoot: would you unveil us some of them?
ha-ha that is true, they are I suppose your natural psychosomatic ritualistic thinking’s, so I think I will keep them under wraps for now. Sorry.

Could you please tell us more about your collaboration with Matthew Joseph?
Yeah sure, Matthew is as you may have read or seen, a very passionate focused individual. He suffers no foosl and know exactly want he wants so I think Matthew’s career will be very lucrative. Matthew approached me to shoot for i-D with him last year and we haven’t yet stopped this trend. We try to cross pollinate our two parallel universes of ideas, I think it works well. It is a strange juxtaposition of industrial imagination and empowerment to the characters.

You do not use any digital device, do you ever regret your choice? Why?
No regrets as of yet, I respect digital work and can appreciate it can be very beautiful, but it isn’t for me. I am somewhat of a purist.

What is the role played by chance while processing your pictures?
That’s a good question, I haven’t really considered this. I guess Chaos is a large element in my work and I accredit many things to the power of chaotic factors.

Is there a medium / technique that you haven't tried yet that you'd like to experiment in the future?
Oh yeah there are many, I have only begun to scratch the surface of what is possible in the darkroom, I also hope to start working to a larger scale soon, at the moment my images are around 20x20" I would like to make a memorial like statement with larger work.

What is your favourite dish? Do you like cooking?
Hehe, I am vegan so anything with humours. I do love cooking!

Who is the woman you'd like to see featured/ interviewed here?
I would love to see an interview with Katie Burnett.

WOW, too good.

(AHH, she gets inspiration from dreams)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I don't know why, but what i really like about this collection is their skirts - big pockets and all. I mean everything else is really great, but i just really like the pockets. :o

And oh, my blog template is screwed, hopefully i'll be able to fix it up soon!

edit: how do i NOT have those stuff surrounding my images? i don't like it.

okay, i've done it. Now, what else should i edit?
